Hi

Thank you for all your good wishes.
We had a quiet christmas, as we were all exhausted after recent events.
Yesterday everything hit me! baby blues, the visa situation, the stolen money, the thought of having to move house to meet mortgage payments, and then recieving another large bill from our lawyer, it all got a bit too much! (Poor Dustin didn't have a dry shoulder!)
Dustin is really at breaking point, Kayley helped raise our spirits alot as she is sooo georgous! It also feels you with worry over what is going to happen at a time when we thought we were doing everything to improve our lives and spend more quality time together. We are trying very hard to keep our spirits raised but we just cant seem to find a way out of a very dark tunnel. It does help knowing that you are all thinking of us and are trying to help. I just wish i had a magic wand!
By the way we named our baby Kayley Jazmin!
I hope you all had a wonderful christmas and a have a great New Year. Here's to 2007 things can only get better!!

Hi janine,
Congrats on your daughter, Dont worry about the baby blues, you could be in a situation where you dont have a care in the world and hit the baby blues!!! you just need a sholder to cry on (which you have) and friends around you.
If you need anything just ask, lots of mothers on here who wont judge any requests for help!!!

Hugs

Congratulations to you both and:welcome: little Kayley Jazmin(not so little though lol) my grandson was 10lb 3oz and i swear he came out wearing school shoes and carrying a satchel he was huge, but I was there and got to cut the cord it was brilliant, so I know just how you both must be feeling, as for the other stuff Justine and Janine the only way now is up, so try and keep it together and enjoy your baby she is your first priority, the rest will come together and please if there is anything I can do for you, please dont be afraid to ask, you are all in our prayers and things will get better, give that baby a big hug from us all and take care of each other, so far you are doing a great job given the circumstances, god bless to you all, take care and a very happy new year.;)

Hello Janine and Dustin,

Well, at last a ray of light has come to brighten your darkness - the gift of life at Christmas in the form of lovely Kayley Jazmin could hardly be more appropriate at this time.

I will be writing you an e-mail (or I may even call you) but please realise that everyone, eventually, has very dark times in their lives which, at the time, seem unresolvable. I know because we have had two, maybe even three, which were very devastating at the time. But they all seem to be so long ago now and, guess what, we recovered and we have prospered because of them !

The old saying 'count your blessings' holds good at times like these. It sounds like you, Dustin, have the love of a very good wife to help support you and you, Janine, have the love of a very hard-working husband who had aspirations to better things for you and the family. Two beautiful children who adore both of you. Well, you should start to count those 'assets' that you have right now and maximise them - leave those 'aspirations for a better life' on the 'liabilties' side of the balance sheet until you are in a much stronger place (financially) to be able to afford them.

In the shorter term, Dustin, you should concentrate on getting a new job, keeping your home and feeding your family. Everything else should be put on the back-burner of life until you are in a much stronger position to be able to afford to finance this Florida thing which is bound to include many more expenses than you have ever previously thought of.

While you are in the UK you have no problems with 'being allowed' to stay here. You (particularly Janine and the children) have free medical treatment (how much would the birth have cost you in a Florida hospital) and many other family benefits available to you - none of which would be available in the US as a non-immigrant alien. You have no problems with finding a job here - in that you are allowed to accept any work here - over there you would not be so free to do so !

So please don't let you heart rule your head at this time - you might only dig yourself into an even deeper hole still.

When I think back about our own deep, dark times I think that these things are sent from time to time to test us. I remember saying shortly before the last one happened (about 14 years ago) "hey, we have a pretty good life don't we ? A lovely home, our children have just flown the nest, another holiday home in Florida and a successful business !" And then the recession of 1992 hit and we almost lost the lot !

Thank God for a wonderful wife, hard work and enterprise !

We wish you a much Happier New Year in 2007 !

Peter & Jean.

Please take good care of yourselves and your lovely new bundle of fun. Family are the most important asset you have so do try to think of what is most importantant in your life. It may seem a big dark tunnel your are traveling through but there is a light at the end of the tunnel and eventually you will come out the otherside
