Our appointment is July 7, they did not ask for more paperwork so guess that all went well, Hubbie is going over alone and try to find an excuse that I am not going to be there. We cannot leave business and all other stuff alone for more than 2 weeks, so I'll go later, provided we get a renewal,......

Others have done it too, and what about when I have a major ear ache and the doc tells me not to fly?? or what if the girl in the office is not there, we cannot close the business for more than 2 weeks??
My husband is the main Visa holder, I am just the independent( don't you hate that word)

My husband & I were 50/50 and we went seperately. I went in the March and he & our daughter went in the July.
The E2 guy (Glenn) said it was the business that was being renewed not the individual so when he gave us a 5 yr renewal in March he gave me a letter for my Husband to show when he went in July. we had different visa dates in our passports as well. All irrevelant now as we later sold the business and E2 no more....
Good Luck

We renewed our E2 in January 2008, my husband went on his own and was granted a 5 year renewal.. I went with our daughter in April 2008 which was really just a formality, my husband didnt have to give a reason why we didnt go with him, Glen just said to him that when he got back to the US we should make our appointments to go to the embassy to have the visa put in our passports. Good luck with your renewal. Eirelav

Someone on another forum who just had their renewal interview asked the interviewer if they were taking the economy into account. He said yes. He explained it as follows, if a company that was making good profit in 2007 but has saw profit drop of 20 to 25 % in 08 and 09 then that was taken into account but not so much if the company was borderline to begin with. That was London not Frankfurt but may give you an indication.

The appointment for our renewal was made just for my husband as he is the E2 holder, on his return from getting the 5 year renewal we then called the telephone number given to him at the embassy to make the appointment for our daughter and myself to go for the visa to be put in our passports. When we went we took paperwork & documents with us relative to the business but we were not asked any questions or asked to provide any documents other than our marriage certificate and our daughters birth certificate (both of which they had seen when we got our original E2 visa in 2000).
