Hi Dee,
I do miss my soaps, so maybe give it a go.
I have been in the USA quite a time now and not in the habit of watching a lot of TV, mainly cos its all cr-p
Maybe We can all come to yours to watch, then we can share the cost?

Came in a bit late... but just a warning. Things like this are generally illegal, so you have to be careful. It might work, it might not. If they don't mind ripping off the BBC, then I can't see them minding off ripping off other people.
However, the BBC are offering up their media player soon which offers some content legally, which I think they will license to overseas users eventually.

oh I wish I had time to watch TV
Can you get BBC America on cable?...or buy DVD's on E-bay (we got one foot in the grave DVD for $4.00) or buy DVD's www.bbc.co.uk or channel four or whatever? $49 a month is alot...but if you do find out whats happening to June Ackland in the Bill let me know :-)

I didn't know Microsoft were backing it? They are using Microsoft streaming technology, but anyone can without Microsoft's permission.
Reading their FAQ, it looks like they are just re-selling satelite feeds, which is illegal. They aren't even negotiating licensing rights with BBC and ITV who own the rights to distribute their programs. I know, because BBC and ITV don't give out those rights.
This thing is quite common at the moment as well as screening football (people can watch football for free using satelite feeds from different countries). Also, downloading TV episodes of UKnova, or any other torrent sites are also illegal, so we have to be careful what's said.

ok i didn't actually know that was what they are doing. My friend told me about the UKnova but i haven't actually been on it yet but i will just have to stick to reading the blurb on bbc and itv.
