Just wanted to post this.
We have some British friends who own a hardware store. They have been badly hit by the economy and also not helped by having new Home Depot and Lowe's opening up nearby. They have had to cut their cloth and reduce staffing quite dramatically.
They chose to do their renewal via Barbados as it was less costly and less time away. They went last week.
They made the appointment but they don't send any paperwork beforehand. They take it all with them.
They turned up for interview. Handed their paperwork in (the folder she put everything in wouldn't fit through the tiny glass screen gap, so had to dismantle everything to feed it through. They were asked to take a seat for a few minutes, then called for interview. The womans scanned through their paperwork, qualified ownership of the business, confirmed who the employees were and asked them what their business did. After that were given 5 years.
Compared to the still tight and faddy requirements of London, cost and time away, it does beg the question is London still the place to go?
