Hello Everyone I would like to ask a question , I have a friend we will say she currently lives in the Philippines and she wants to travel to the USA to visit how long is the Visitors Visa Good for, what is the process, wait time, application time any fees once they apply is the Visa to travel guaranteed would there be any reason why the Visa could or would not be granted to travel , and if a person is here can they stay longer example extend there visit , or how do they apply to say longer , extend their Visa, and can they apply if they like it here can they apply to become a permanent resident, How? Example if they apply for fiancee visa while here will they be extended and be able to wait here for the approval or do they have to return and wait abroad or are they allowed to wait here while waiting to be approved , and while they apply can they stay here while waiting on there extension or do they have to return or are they forced back to their Country or Home , I would like to know please anyone who can give me a true Honest legal answer to this question will be greatly appreciated , Frank

Short answer to this .
Your friend can come in on visa waiver for up to 3 months, this is standard for most holiday makers.
If your freind wants to stay longer she can get a B visa.
Check the USCIS website for latest visa fees and issuance fee. Probably be around 200 bucks in all.
The B visa will stay in your passport for up to 10 years.
You may stay for 183 days ( 6 months ) in any one year.
You are not allowed to work while on this visa.
When obtaining the visa from your embassy they will scrutinise you closley .
If they suspect you are coming here to work they will refuse entry.
They will want proof of funds to keep yourself while here.
They will want proof that your friend has ties to her country , and must show she keeps a domicile there.
They will want to know why you need to be here for more than the 3 months a visa waiver gives you.
If you even mention permanent residence at you interview they are likley to refuse visa.
Similarly with fiancee visa , if you mention it while applying for B visa they will assume you are trying to cheat the system and refuse entry.
Getting the B visa is not as easy as it used to be , they are trying to close loop holes that have been exploited in the past.

Obtaining permanent residence is a whole different ball game ... you need to see an immigration attorny for advice on that , as it will depend on your circumstances.

I cant honestly say i know the legalitys of where you must be while applying for a fianceee visa , again seek legal advice after you get the B visa.

The chances of a visitor visa in these circumstances is close to nil.

But she only has the fee at risk, if you do not apply the the chance is definitely zero.

Phillipines is a super high visa fraud country .. if the applicant is a young single women
Is pretty much no chance
