I used to be the one hooked and my husband absolutely hated it! Now, since the end of the last series, I seem to have lost interest and it is hubby that says "American Idol's on tonight!!" lol
A lot of guys pretend they don't like it, but "suffer" it because most of the girls like to watch the programme! Isn't that right guys?????

Most blokes try to avoid it because they don't like the premise of the show. When they do catch it, the human emotion and wit/judgement of the judges make it rather addictive.
Oh, and guys like to feel hard done by too, so they have to moan about the other half watching it :)

I really like it too, Susie and Terry hates it, perhaps he and Ian should go to the pub together. I really like Simon, he is such a rotter, dont we all love rotters!!!! So who do you think will win this year??

I think ( being an avid watcher) that Chris or Katherine should win..I think they'll be the last two.
Couldnt understand why Mandissa went off so soon, as I thought she was brilliant
I think Simon's great and praise him alone for having to put up with Paula....

Picture the scene:
7 guys just played football at Celebration on our usual Wednesday kick about and retire to the Town Tavern for a couple of sherbets.
All the TVs are set to football and baseball and the Americans are whooping and hollering at the screens in excitement.
Then one of our "blokes" remembers that it's decision time on Idol and can the bar man change the channel. After a few jokes and digs about it, the group agree that "everyone" really wanted to see who got voted off!
Sign of the times!
Then a 10 minute discussion followed on the loss of Mandisa and how it's turning into a popularity contest instead of a "singing competition" (as Simon always points out!)
My vote's with Katherine, but I'd like to see Chris up there too and still get a record deal. If he recorded "Walk the Line" the way he sung it a few weeks ago, I'd buy it right away. I thought it was amazing.
OK ...that's enough gaiety for one day!!

Poor old Kelly went off this week which proves it is no longer a popularity contest as she had been relying on the "calamari " factor for a couple of weeks now, the week before last she lost her way with the music
My bet would also be with Katherine ( Simon was really unfair to her this week) or Chris who is really original, though they say the judges favourite is Elliott, Paula was crying as he sang this week, "you move me" says she. Taylor still get s the votes and has never been in the bottom three, who would have thought grey hair would have such an impact! Barring someone doing something awful, Paris had better watch out next week,
Mandisa had a good voice but chose bad songs two weeks running, a bad song can ruin you on Idol, do you remember Constantine last year??
God I am a SAD person!!

He looked shocked. Catherine looked shocked, I think even she thought she was a gonna! I really think Taylor may win now.

I think even the judges were shocked. I think Catherine should now win, whereas I did think Chris had it. Who know's ? It was like Latoya London last year, I never thought she would be voted off.
Oh, well its now a tight call. What will we to on Tuesday and Wednesday nights when its finished ??!! LOL

I watch a lot on Tues and Wed, Tuesday Idol then House and Wednesday Bones, then Idol Result and catch the last half of Lost ( why did they put those on the same time, grr, no we dont have a VCR!) All coming to an end in 2-3 weeks. More time for the forums, LOL.
I foresee a Catherine versus Taylor final, Katya, what a turn up for the books. Yes Chris was my fave too, especially in the boxer briefs he mentioned. I would have thought that would have got the votes, but aooarently not!

Our whole family was shocked at Chris going yesterday - think Taylor will win now, but who knows!!! It was like Constantine last time - he was voted off about 6th to the end - we thought he should win that one.
The great thing about the Wednesday show has been Unanimous afterwards. Melissa and I got hooked from the beginning and it ended yesterday. Real human greed - great!!!!!

Oh, who won the money and how much in the end ( as that clock was ticking). I stopped watching Unanimous as it made me feel clostrophobic , like I was under there myself. ( not that I would have gone in with all those nutters- I would have been the first one asking to leave - sod the money,, LOL !!)
Just interested in how it ended ?
Well, as for American Idol, I just cant beleive they would vote off Chris, he was brilliant. There all good, so may the best person win....even if they arent as good looking as Chris :o
Im glued to American Idol and will miss it when it ends. (off to channel flicking once more !!) LOL

Taylor is favourite now apparently. Chris has already had offers of singing with at least one big band so all is not lost. "So you think we can dance " replaces Idol, that was very good last year, almost as addictive as Idol.
