Interseting article in todays online BBC. Glad to see that the inspite of a good exchange rate, they are now voting with their feet. Question is when will the Americans finally feel the pain and make adjustments. My guess .... never.

Hi Chris, thanks for sharing
Will paste the article here as sometimes the story gets taken off.
Interesting reading
US tourists 'flocking' to Britain
The Swiss RE building towers behind the Tower of London
More Americans are visiting the UK but the number of Britons travelling to the United States has declined in the last year, figures have shown.
North Americans made 7% more visits to the UK in the first 11 months of 2006 than in the same period in 2005, the Office for National Statistics said.
But the number of Britons who flew to North America declined by 9% last year despite a favourable exchange rate.
Some tourism experts think US airport security checks could be a factor.
They have suggested the delays - as a result of the increasing levels of security - as a possible reason for the decrease in UK visits.
Overall, the Office for National Statistics said overseas residents made 29.69m visits to the UK during the January-November period in 2006.
They also spent £14.1bn during those months - up 8% on the previous year's total.
Meanwhile, UK residents made 64.37m visits overseas in the same period last year, an increase of 3%.
They spent £31.53bn during their visits - 3% more than in the same period in 2005.

Chris you are absolutely right; I think they feel they are invincible.
I have heard so many people complaining about the treatment they receive when they finally get here that I am sure they will never set foot here again especially with the security checks; they are absolutely amazed that when they pick up their luggage after immigration they could be singled out for another luggage inspection after customs!! I have heard them say "but the luggage has just come off the plane". The latest thing I have found which is bizarre is that when you are heading for the train (in OIA) on your return here, they now herd you through ropes to stop you staying in that area, whether it be for a cuppa or a stroll if you have never been here before. Oh well, they must have their reasons I s'pose!
Wonder when the US will get the message that people are fed up to the back teeth and starting to turn their backs on the USA, you can only treat people like cr-p for so long beofre there is an uprising, when will they ever learn?
