I'm a student in the U.S., but to get my visa (OCT/2009) I saw coming two observations (PS):
1. "will not adjust status"
2. "6 months max stay"
Please can someone tell me what these sentences in a passport with student visa, F1 type? Still studying, but my visa expires in March 2010 and would like to know if I need to return to Brazil, even though the I-20 valid until November 2010.
Sincerely
* I hope to hear from you soon.

Your 1-94 governs your right to remain, the visa is only permission to travel. What does your I-94 say??? I also dont understand why you were given a six month visa??? Are you about to graduate???? If you have graduated, you are given 60 days to leave no matter what your 1-94 or your F1 visa says unless you apply for OPT.
However the person to address this inquiry to is the international students advisor at your college. They are best able to advise as they will know your circumstances.

Agree with JulieC entirely - speak to your college international student visa specialist asap.

Hi Julie C and Munish,
I want to thank your help. I returned to my country because I was afraid to stay in the USA and complicate my future. The university told me that this was the 1st in 40 years if they receive foreign students. On immigration, here in the U.S., I felt strongly in response, so I decided to go back. The best part of this story is that I have received a new visa without oeservações and I can continue my preparation for the PhD Again, thank you for your answers.

Glad you were able to sort out a visa for your PhD. Have to say sounds like it may have been some error in the first place on the face of it. Good luck with your studies.
