2nd business under E2 company

Hi all

Hubby has LLC called lets say XYZ Enterprises LLC, and this was the company that E2 visa was given for.

He owns a franchise which has a ficticious business name as XYZ Enterprises LLC Doing Business As NMO Services as an example.

My question is this, can he set up another DBA company under the main LLC company?

He has an idea for a 2nd business but we want to do things properly.

yes of course he can ,,,, just need a seperate registration and license. you can set up as many businesses as you like under a corporation name. change your corporation registration to read " any and all lawful business enterprises " under the section about what your corp does.

ps ... change to an "s" corporation so you can carry losses and gains from all companies onto your personal tax returns. that way the current profitable company can cover the starter company while you build it up ....

Yes. I have had up to three DBA's under my E2 corporation. It becomes a bit more difficult if you are trying to sell with the tax retuirn as they have to be seperated out and be careful that the stater doesn't make the whole corp profits to low for a renewal.

is this something that can be done on legalzoom or online company registration? we are not in USA right now

You just register another fictitious name under your corporation name on the website of your states division of corporations. In Florida it is www.sunbiz.org, there must be something similar for Rhode Island??

Just a couple of questions

Will he have to get permission from his franchise people and if you are a dependent E 2 why not set up a new business in your name? that way if business one is not doing too well you may do better in your biz?
