We are in the US - looking to renew our E2 Visa later in year. We live 2hrs drive of both Memphis and Nashville.

Can anyone recommend me a good Immigration Lawyer who has experience of applying/renewing E2 visa for UK nationals ? (my first one turned out to be incompetent).

Is it best to get a lawyer based back in the UK - or have a US represent us?

If we get a "long distance" lawyer (UK or out of state) - are there any drawbacks to not being able to have face to face meetings?

Thanks,
Denise

I know of lawyers who use Skype video conferencing and so this should help with out of state or UK based attorneys.

Unfortunately Denise its horses for courses. A Lawyer can make it work for somebody, you recommend him/her but they are not magicians and another case could be completely different and you are let down and don't get the Visa. Obviously the more recommendations a Lawyer gets shows that he does work hard for you and knows what he's doing, but it does depend on the case I think.

Our son and his family used the Lawyers we employed to get our Green Cards and were pretty certain they could get Visa's for them, they didn't and lives were turned upside down but hopefully you will get recommendations from people on here and I for one wish you the very best of luck.
