View Full Version : Speeding at the airport
Hi, Just got back from MCO. As we were driving into the airport there were policeman on the approach with radar guns. There was a police car further up the road pulling people over. I understand the police have a job to do. However it seemed over the top to me to be pulling people up on the way to the airport.
A certain percentage of the people receiving tickets today must have been tourists. I can't think of a better way to say hope you had a good time and we look forward to you coming back.!!!!!!!!

They are currently having a blitz on speeders in central florida. Be warned. Drive on cruise, that's the best bet.

If you don't speed you don't get a ticket...too many kids in the USA are killed by drunk drivers or speeding...

Hi
I think you will find that more tickets are given out towards the end of each month.
The reason , (I am told ) is the police have to stick to a quota ! not sure if this is the real reason though
I do not agree with speeding, but guess most of us have done so at some point in our lives. I would never forgive myself if I killed someone as a result of my actions

Thanks for the "heads up" Sab,
It would be nice to think we're all perfect and never speed, but I know I'm most certainly not...so I'll certainly watch out, and slow down in my usual rush for the plane (or to get back home).

You may know my husband was ARRESTED for speeding - we completely dispute this, the officer was driving towards him and alledged her radar read at 83 - we were shown nothing but had just rounded a corner (where she had no line of sight) and although we were over the limit (approx 62 in a 50) quiet Vermont country road) there is no way we were driving at 83 which was the speed she stated. What do you do? We went to court and it was dismissed. HOWEVER the arrest is on record and if you have an arrest then your visa application is subject to additional 14-16 week scrutiny whilst your in the UK!!! BE warned!

Also when or if you go for citizenship you could be turned down....maybe we have all speeded at sometime...but here its not a good idea....more so if you wish to have the chance someday of making this your full time home....

Sorry ,that is not correct. The offence must be one of moral turpitude committed within 5 years of application. It has to be disclosed but will not cause a refusal

Shame the police don't give fines for people useing there cell phones when driving, seems like 8 out of 10 people are on them when we are driving up the 1-4... It seems to me that problem is worse than the speeding !!!.
