I am curious, if you had a GC would you still live in Florida or in this part of the state and what line of business/work would you want to do?

RETIRE!!!! I want to stay here but not in Orlando particularly, my husband fancies Tennessee for some reason. We are coming up to retirement age though, well early retirement anyway. Fancy doing a bit of property development/speculation.

Me, I couldn't retire even if I wanted to. Strange as it may seem, I actually enjoy working even though I do enjoy hitting the beaches here and in Mexico.

I dont mind working actually but i had substantial years away from work for children, hubbie who has been working for 40 years reckons he could do nothing quiite happily! Relax thats the big thing as Karyn says. not to have to worry about immigration.

I do have a GC and guess what ? We love it here.Been to virtually every corner of the USA and keep coming back here. When I was single my passport had stamps from over 55 countries. Nice to visit California,Vegas,Hawaii and a dozen other places but in the end Florida, and specifically, central Florida beats them all. Other countries ? Forget it as virtually every other countries residents wish they could move here. We have, for the most part, the best weather, an affordable lifestyle and best of all can hop on a flight and be all over the world within 10 hours.

Hi
I would like to spend 6 months travelling around the USA during July and Aug, to get away from this heat and the winter months in Florida
But I would still like to work, don't think I could ever retire completely

Right with you there Julie!!
Steve and I have said that when the kids have left home and we can afford to - not till long after college then - we would love to travel the US in an RV. I can't really think of any parts that I wouldn't like to visit.
Come on then - let's all push for E2's being able to retire here!!!!!!!

Two hot in the summer here, six months in each would be ideal, pity we all still have to work!! So you son isnt still considering moving down south then, thats a shame.
