Interesting article on tourism to the US [Archive]

Perhaps there are some that do value the tourism industry after all, having said, I suspect their prioirty is to keep out all those 'bad' people and hence we are unlikley to see any smiles on faces as we reenter this country.

I met socially with Tom Patton executive director of the Central Florida Visitors and convention bureau. He is also executive director of the Central Florida development Council of Polk county

He was rencently sent to the UK to try and drum up more investors and encourage them to move to the USA

I think I will copy and e-mail him this article

When we met I had a long discussion on how E visa holders are treated with regards to renewals, never having the right to retire, children ageing out at 21 years etc., No homstead exemptions allowed and E visa holders fell as though they are treated as second class citizens.

He was amazed and had no idea what investors actually have to go through to get to the US and wanted a white paper written on this subject, to inclued the effects on business to do with travel and visitors to the USA. Alan O may have an update on this
