Favourite places in Florida to visit.

I hate to say this, but since we moved here in Oct 2002, we have not been north of Orlando in the state of Florida!! Now I know that there must be some great places to visit, but for some reason south Florida interests us more. We try and spend as much time around Siesta Key but I also like Miami & the Ft Lauderdale area. Siesta Key has a great beach and I enjoy the lively atmosphere of Miami.

Where are your favourite places in Florida?

St Augustine is really worth a visit, one of the few places in Florida with some history with the old fortress and town, and more of a real Spanish flavour than most places. Can be done in a day at a push but a nights stay would leave you more time to see everything.

Take a look at Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park. This is the home of the manatees. It is really beautiful.

I like that one too, but if you go to the St Johns River and surrounding state park in Winter you can also see manatees in the wild which is even better.
