Did anyone see the Channel 4 documentary the "The Great Global Warming Swindle." It aired this week and is going to be repeated again. Fascinating. It challenges the notion of man-made global warming in a compelling way, essentially arguing the the influence of CO2 on gloabl warming is minimal compared to the true driver behing it, which is the Sun.
I am not going to repeat the documentary at it is all over the Internet and hope it is televised because it is fascinating viewing because of the evidence presented, which was much more compelling than the evidence shown in Al Gore's film. Essentially it states:
The science behind the global warming theories that it is caused by man-made CO2 is incorrect;
The Sun is the real driver our planet's temparatures and that the Earth has been much warmer and much colder depending on the Sun's activities
People behind the theories that current trend in global warming are a natural phenomenon are not funded by the oil companies despite all the claims and are actually being victmised wrongly for putting forward these ideas;
The major report on global warming that contains the contributions of 1,000 eminent scientists misrepresented many of their finding or failed to include them, but the report included their names so it looks like there is a consensus. Only a few scientists managed to have their names removed because after their requests for removal were denied, they threatened legal action against the United Nations.
The theories are too readily accepted by the media and politicians, which is having negative ramnifications in Africa, where many development projects are conditional upon green technology which does not sufficiently meet the respurces needed to escape from proverty, and that we are justifying their poverty with the false notion that we are protecting the planet. They showed a school which had a solar powered roof, but it onoly made enough power to provide electricity for the lights or for the refriderator but no both.
If you get a chance to watch it, either on TV or the web, it is highly recommended viewing.
I definitely see myself as a green person, and I have to say this definitely has made me think twice and very convincingly so.
