Hi,
Just wondered if anyone had a new E2 visa application with the Embassy at the moment? (silly question)
When was your application submitted and have you heard anything about an interview date?
We are now at 18 weeks which I know is not a long time reading the postings on the website, but we are currently living with my in laws and need some hope!!!!!
Thanks

could you not contact the embassy on the status of your case?
this is why a lot of people choose premium processing, its an extra 1000 dollars but they aim to give you an answer within 14 days.
i dont know whether you can do this now, but it is worth asking.
we lived with my parents also, but dont despair, before you know it you will be living here and memories of inlaws will be just a distant memory!

Our application is going through the Embassy in London and we were told it could not be premium processed? I have asked our immigration attorney but she has said that they are still dealing with applications that were submitted in August 2006 Aaagh!
I hope the memories will soon be very distant!!!!!! My bags are packed and I am on the first plane out! ( and we used to get on so well )

Expect to wait 28 + weeks . Premium processing is only available in the US and only for E2 status - not VISA. The Embassy now actually do state 24 weeks on the website it usually takes longer

You can't do Premium Processing for an E2 at the Embassy.
Everything goes in the same pile and gets looked at in order - our last set of renewal papers went in at the end of July and we had an answer about 2 weeks ago, so them looking at August now sounds about right.
The only good thing seems to be that they are saying that they are speeding up and they seem to be giving interviews quite quickly in some cases.
Good Luck

Thanks, it's just nice to know what stage people are at in the big black hole! I felt better when I read the statement from the Embassy following the ITV programme which said from the end of May 2007 E2 initial processing time would be reduced to 12 weeks - but I suppose we will have to wait and see.

They told AILA the wait would be back to 8 weeks by end December 2006 due to 'extra staff' that had been drafted in!

I think they throw darts at a board and where it lands, that's the waiting time. You can imagine the embassy workers gaily playing hide and seek in amongst the towering piles of visa applications. Lets just hope no-one hits the bullseye this week!

Hi
Been waiting 20 weeks tomorrow. Our London based VL is having a meeting with chief Visa officer in London embassy next week. VL's quote when he saw statement from embassy on ITV website about bringing wait down to 12 weeks in May was 'incredulous'!!
We have managed to get an extension to our contracts for the purchase of the business until mid may (this is the 2nd extension we have got) We are done for if we don't hit that deadline as the sellers want to move on.

So are you saying David that the embassy lied, now THAT is incredulous!!!!!!!and heres all us thinking that it was all true dohhhhhhhhhhhh just another classic example of "one hand doesnt know what the other is doing", anyway good luck on hitting your deadline, hope it works out for you.

Hi
Don't want to depress you but we put our E2 application into the US Embassy in March 2006 and got our interview on 2nd November! 32 Weeks. When our aplication was received we were told it would be processed in 9 to 16 weeks. Our application was straightforward and no additional enquiries/questions were asked.
My advice to you would be to make the most of the boredom. You sure won't be bored when you get here!
Hang on in there!

Thanks. It's ok to be bored in your own home but not when you are living with the outlaws! I love this website I could just sit and read peoples postings all day. I just wish I was there to join in your coffee mornings etc!

We were told 8-10 weeks in December 2004 - it took 14 to get interview. We lived in a real dump of an apartment whilst we waited...it seemed like forever but we got here in the end...now we just have the renewal to contend with!
