I am no prude, but puberty is when you formally discuss this with your kids. Before then you answer questions when asked but don't dwell on it.
Here in the US schools seem hung up on drugs and discuss it with the kids at an age when there is really no reason to.
I remember my eldest when in elementary telling the teacher that 'my mum and dad don't give me Coke because it makes me all hyper. He made that comment in the drugs seesion. What he didn't realize that Coca Cola (aka Coke) is NOT Cocaine (aka Coke). I am surprised we never had child services on the doorstep as here they always knee jerk/over react on everything.

My Grandson come home talking about God..which even to a none Christian like me is a lot lot better than sex at age 5...I teach him America History and reading when he stays ..he is into trains bird watching cars and the beach all kid stuff..I'm not a prude but I find this a little sick..

But us guys are smart , we found out your little secret, we know there is no such thing as an orgasm for women. We now perfected our own performance , we get it over and done with in under 3 minutes and back in front of the TV with beer in hand in under 5 minutes....

I think you'd be surprised at how young some children are when they pick up on drug 'speak' and drug paraphenalia. Especially if there is drug use in the home.

Time to tell is when questions are asked and old enough to understand, each child is different and some may ask questions and if they do then that is the time to sit down and have a chat
