I heard on the radio that that last few Insurance companies are pulling off the Cape this year...or putting prices up 200%...leaving most people on Cape Cod MA with only State cover....the State makes you do major repairs to your home before covering you in a lot of cases....I'm not sure if its the same in all States...
In FL I was reading that prices could go up 500% as companies carry on pulling out of the area...
We've learnt over the years to buy central...away from any kind of water even a small lake...keep good credit...that can half your Ins in FL...

We had great trouble finding someone to Insure our Cape home 2 years ago...the payment went from $300....to $899......this year we now have to pay the first $3k of any wind damage...
We could end up paying $1600 for very little cover next year...
House Insurance is one of the things you need to give a lot of throught to when buying your home...along with property tax....

Well, it could just be that everyone EXCEPT America knows about Global Warming ???

That's why everyone, everywhere is getting all kinds of crazy weather these days - but don't tell George W. he doesn't believe in it !

I found it funny that my FL Ins went down after we had all the storms in Orlando....but it went up on the Cape and we've not had a storm for over 10 years...it seems different areas go into the box every few years....FL was out the box till this year....the Cape will move out the box if we have no storm this year....
In MA if you pull out of Home Insurance...you can't sell any other kind of Insurance...life car etc in MA....all well and good...but we lose out in the end because none of the cheaper places can sell here anymore...

The weather in England is going back to pre industrial....no warm air over England to keep the snow away anymore...
FL goes though a cycle of storms...since 95 we have been in the stormy part of that cycle....if we have many bad storms this year...we have about 20 more years of storms heading our way.....if not...then we could get a break for the next 20 years....it'll take 20 more years to find out if the storms are to do with global warming...or if its still in its normal cycle...
