I see people's postings and fears and wonder why none of us has gone public on it!!!! The average american has no idea of what we go through just to be here let alone STAY! THey think we can just "come on over and stay" and are horrified when told what we have to endure. I have offers of adoption (think my parents would object and I am 36!) and another has offered to divorce her husband and swap (on paper only) marriges!!! Maybe we could shame the immigration officials into submission!? How can they make our kids, every morning pledge to the flag and then in a heart beat take that away and tell them sorry you actually dont belong here!!! It is just so shameful of a country built from immigrants, and I am sure most of us could find a thread in the blood lines tying us to the first settlers, even to the president himself. ABC Action on your side? Any one tried???:p

Thats the whole point of this group...we are banding together and if you look through the various postings, you will see that we are trying to raise the awareness through the media and also by getting as many Americans as possible to write to their Congressmen/women. So tell all of your friends to join the group- the more the merrier, but we want people that are going to take action, not just sit back and moan and let everyone else do the work!!!

As much as we'd like, we have to accept this will never happen. No vote - no power!

They would argue that it is not "they" but we who chose to bring our kids here knowing that they would age out - don't jump on me because I personally do think its awful that a child can know no other "home" than the US and still have to leave, but as a parent if you bring children to the US on a "temporary" visa then you should be aware of this.

Although its a little easier for a US citizen to get permanant status in the UK should they wish, they still have to fulfil specified criteria (including substantially higher investment than we have to make on E2) and it takes years to achieve. However there is some hope that the newly drafted proposal for parity for Investor visas and the Dream act will gain some momentum and in future some of these problems may be resolved

thats what i have always said!!
we are Americas biggest allies we go to war together, the first settlers in this country were:
the Irish and the British. Once America became independant and some years later after 'settlers' became 'citizens' no more immigrants.
so i think there is a karmic debt being paid back here somewhere???

I do hope that you meant that tongue firmly in cheek. Historically its not that simple.
