Last week I was in stuck in Mexico and appart from falling asleep on the beach most days due to alcohol intake I was fortunate enough to watch BBC World News which depressed me as this made me realise how awful the news coverage is in the USA. Now I know you can watch the USA's version of BBC World News (which coincidently is sponsored by Ford, Rockerfellar foundation etc), but I like to watch an uneditied and unbiassed broadcast. It was good to hear of things that go on outside of the USA and indeed good to hear that there are in fact still some countries that exist in the world appart from America!
Reason for posting - Is there anyway that I can 'capture' BBC World news via my computer by buying or subscribing to a decoder or something similar which will allow me to watch this on my PC?

Sorry, David, but I can't help you with the 'techie' stuff - however, I just wanted to share withj you the converse of this view which I experienced while in Tenerife recently.
There one of the few channels available to us was CNN News. This was suposed to be the 'European edition' broadcast (they said) from London. However, once beyond the London based achor - all the content and other presenters was clearly American biased and with very little reference to anything outside of American interests and views of the world.
I am sure that some would say that it was broader in outlook than the US CNN broadcasts - but only slightly.
The thing that really p...d me off with their arrogance was when the 'markets' segment, dealing with the European markets and firms, quoted their revenues and profits translated into $$$$ ! What a bloody cheek ! If these are European firms, they earn in Euro's and this is the European edition so we can understand that ! Not bloody US$$$ !
What if CNN Europe quoted US markets in Euro's or Pounds ? There would be hell to pay !
Don't get me started !

Agree, but this is America, the land of opportunity and you do have the freedom of speach, well to an extent and then you have to pay for it, so it's not really free is it? What always amazes me is how they are so happy to 'air' Die Hard at 9am on a saturday morning when most young children are looking for something to watch while their parents sleep off last night cocktail of Southern Comfort, Baileys, Pina Coladas BUT they are against showing routine cosmetic surgery results which just might show a bit of human flesh. Time to blur out those pictures again before they make a boob of it:eek:
