Anyone who can should get today's edition (Monday 19th June )of the St. Petersburg Times. In the Business section there is an article regarding E2 Investors. Here is a chance to give our side of the story to the American public. There is an incorrect stement made in the article saying we can "eventually apply for Green Card and then citizenship".
Come one everyone...........here's our chance. Lets email the newspaper and put our case forward.
You can find the same article in a couple of other newspapers, but on line at :

It's a syndicated article written by Cecelia Kwang of the Washington Post.
By all means correct each of the papers who published it but you also need to get back to the Washington Post to correct the source.
Typically, however, Cecelia has filed this story now, moved on to another subject, and I doubt whether she will have any interest in any corrections of the facts that she had been given and published.
In fact, what she said, in the context that she said, it is TRUE given that the guy quoted set up a US subsidiary of a Pharmaceutical company back home (not Britain) and, therefore, as if he had also a Ltd. Co. running in parallel back here, he CAN convert his E2 to a Green Card (just like an L1 would convert in similar circumstances). That is the ONLY way in which an E2 will ever convert to Green Card.
His reasons for applying for an E2 - rather than an L1 - was that he was already in the US as a graduating student - and therefore would not have to exit the USA for a year if applying for E2 as he would if he applied for a L1.
Crazy innit ?

Thank you Pete,
Having just read the article in The Palm Beach Post, Mr.Pollar obviously dosent realise the rules of his own visa he paid all that money for by selling his home in the UK.
Unfortunatley some people are blinded by the sunshine to actually sit down and read the requirments to the visa they have just put their life on hold for !
Get some shades a hat and a table of which to read your paperwork !!

Please Note; This comment is focused on the report covered, after reading my remark I just wanted to make sure that this wasnt read as a dig at all those on the E visa. I do feel though that this editing would be mis-leading to those coming over on an E. I have written to the Palm Beach Post - which is my local paper ( even though originated from The Washington Post) to point out the error.

Strangely, there is no mention of the L1 in the St. Pete Times edition. Clearly, other newspapers have syndicated the article and given their own "artistic expression" to it.
