Brits get together in Vegas

I know that most people who post here don't live in Vegas, but I just wanted to post the link to this get together that just took place for Brits here in Vegas a few weeks back. Apparently there are 30,000 Brits in Vegas, hard to believe but true. This event was a chance to network and meet great people, many who are having the same immigration nightmare as other Brits on here. Its events like these that can bring the British community together and hopefully set the stage for getting our voices heard. Have you guys tried organising something like this in Florida?

Makes a great contrast to all the Brits who think that property management in Florida is the only way to find their way into the USA.

What is your occupation/business in Las Vegas Paul ? What do most of the expat Brits out there do in LV ?

Thats what they originally thought, but they sent out an email after the event stating there was close to 30,000 here. They also said they are going to redo the website and possibly have a Guy Fawkers event in November.

Just sent an email to Andy Walmsley congratulating hm on his success, being fellow northerners and all that,mentioned expats voice as well,he sent me a really nice one back,its great to see fellow Brits doing as well as he is,makes me so proud to be Northern lol He sounds like a really nice chap.So Paul did you go to the knees up then????

Peter, I work in graphic design, and am branching out into the world of Independent animation shortly. From what I know, a lot of Brits here work in the casino industry in a variety of positions. I've met a few here who are in Real Estate, retail, hospitality, I just met a lady who bought a hairdressing salon and another who opened an English tea room. Las Vegas is a very multi-national place with just about every nationality represented here.

A lot of Brits live in a small area of FL if you think about it...a Mexican friend of mine says there will soon be more Brits than Hispanics...there is I hear already more English places to eat than Mexican...
