Hi

My friend has just been denied at American Embassy in London for an E visa

They were buying a franchise of (30) homes to manage in the Disney area

She is about to visit the US to look for a business on the visa wavier

Does anyone know if she has to tick the back of the visa wavier form saying she has been denied a visa?

Or should she apply for a B visa if looking to purchase a business?

Thanks

They will probably not give her a B visa as they will know she may use it for change of status here internally, apparently they are getting fed up with this. I know of people who have got back in ok on visa waiver after having been denied an E2, it is becoming increasingly common now I have to say. If they have stamped her passport visa denied she has no option but to fill it in, otherwise I would keep mum.

Can I ask whether the franchise was a split off from a large management company? They dont like these much. There was one person selling these a few years back and he got quite a few through then they took against it and started sending them all off into a black hole. He stopped selling them but i know another big man co recently set up and got a few through. I presume this means thats a no no now as well.

I think that the main problem is that the US Embassy don't like franchises but like to see the whole company change hands especially when it concerns property management businesses.

I think most of us can work out the C word, Kitty.
