Hi, am a newbie poster, but have been looking at the forum for a little while now.

I have an E2 visa, granted for 2 years, expiring on the 5th May 2011, with my husband and kids as dependents. My I94 was originally valid until 18th May 2011. Having done some research, we took a quick trip over to Jamaica to get our I94s restamped for 2 years (am not currently renewing my E2 at the London embassy, as I think they will deem my business marginal).
Officer at POE didn't seem to know what an E2 visa was, and only stamped the I94s to 5th May 2011.

I've read somewhere that people managed to get this fixed and changed to 2 years, so if anyone could fill me in on that, that would be fab. As you can appreciate, I now have even less time than before, and I don't want the I94s to expire.

Thanks in advance.

Your going to have to go back to the POE and speak to someone in immigration there and explain what happened. My wife had a similar incident at Boston Logan. In the end we didn't change the I94 because we were leaving the USA anyway but I believe it could have been changed.

Where are you located???? Are you near Orlando?? If so get an Infopass to the Immigration Office at Tradeport near Orlando Airport and ask them to stamp you for two years. Have known a few people get theirs successfully amended there. You should have got the two years, ask to see the POE officers supervisor if this happens again.

Hi and :welcome: to our site

Sadly many of the immigration officers at the port of entry do not always comprehend. You could always ring the poe immigration supervisor and maybe you can go back and get re stamped

Sadly many of the immigration officers at the port of entry do not always comprehend. You could always ring the poe immigration supervisor and maybe you can go back and get re stamped and I would also book an info pass too, that way you have two ways of maybe getting the results you want
