I don't think so. Don't the UK kids still get 6 weeks in summer and go back end August. That would mean they finish in July.
That said, there are those families who take their kids out of school early to go on cheaper vacations rather than pay the high season costs. They run the risk of school fines for doing so, but the fines are less than the high season charge.

Yes, Half term in some areas last week.....some the week before....

As Chris said parents pulling kids out for an extra week to save on July -august flight costs.... still goes on, always will...

We always did it...no fine then teachers thought travel did the kids good.. Michelle was given nearly 4 weeks off in term time to travel across the US with us at 15..
