We renewed our UK passports earlier this year. We have US Immigration visas valid for 5 more years in the old passports.
DOES ANYONE KNOW THE US IMMIGRATION CONTROL POLICY FOR WHEN YOU HAVE RENEWED YOUR UK PASSPORT BUT YOUR IMMIGRATION VISA STAMP IS STILL ONLY IN YOUR OLD PASSPORT?
Do you just carry the old passport as well as the new one and present them both to the immigration officer?
Is this the accepted practice by US Immigration Control??

Hi John,

I believe both should be carried.

And welcome to the site.:welcome:

Yes, I am sure that this is exactly what you need to do - unless there is a way to get the visas transferred into you new passport? If I am wrong I am sure someone will correct me. Welcome to the site by the way :welcome:

McSporran is correct. You will have to carry both passports with you, until such times as a new US Visa goes in your new passports. Same with kids only its more frequent with them as you have to renew them more often.
We've been here 7 years and between the 4 of us we have 7 passports to lug around.

Hello John and :welcome:

We were in your position for a couple of years until we got our LPR. We had to carry both old and new passports as the visa was not transferable into the new passport, so agree with what everyone else has said.

Kind Regards,

TeaPot :)

Hi John,

Welcome to the site. We were in the same situation, so yes as everybody else has stated, you need to carry both.
