Dear Sir/Madam
I write to you from and on behalf of www.expatsvoice.org
It is about time we legals with immigration problems and issues started to join together to get our voices heard and this is exactly what we have done and are doing
There are three cases in Florida at the moment whereby the petitioner has passed away leaving the widow helpless
The first is my own case. My husband was diagnosed terminal on 4th May 06 and passed 13th May 2006. My husand was the petitoner for my son who has waited for green card in home country for 5 years.
As husband has died the case has died with my husband. Son went to American embassy in London to obtain a B visa to come and assist me with probate and find a final resting place for husbands ashes.
Son had e-mail of support of visa from congressman Dave Weldon, proof of job in UK, original death certificate and many other documents.
The visa was denied as son could not show strong family ties to the UK.
The second case are a couple who had E1 and E 2 visa. The husband was the main visa holder. As husband passed the wife was given 30 days to leave the USA.
She had to sell business, sell home, deal with funeral arrangement and probate. All in 30 days.
The third case is onging. The couple are LPR. The husband is terminally ill. They do not have children. Relatives came on plane to assist wife on visa waiver program. The must leave before 90 days,
The is no humanitarian rights, no compassionate visa in times of distress. Furthermore there is NO special relationship between the UK and USA
America is cruel to legal immigrants and need to urgently address the need for a compassionate visa if nothing else.
Illegals are breaking four laws, Immigration, driving without a license, no vehicle insurance and not paying tax to uncle Sam
People who invest a substanial sum of money and open a business on E visa are never allowed to retire of aquire earned LPR
Lets hope you paper has some compassion and at least print my views
