If I can sell the cleaners - I am going to take the kids to Yellowstone as they deserve the break just as much as I do.

After a very long and very busy summer we are looking to go to NY in October never beenn so - any tips on hotels/airlines would be appreciated. No special reason - just to get away from everything.

We have just come back from a week at Club Med at Port St Lucie on the east coast of Florida.
Steve and I went there 19 years ago, when he worked for Renault and won a trip, and we really enjoyed it. We have always wanted to take the kids there. We decided to have a week away and decided on there as it is all inclusive and lots of activities for the kids to do.
We had a really good time - yes the room could have been a little spicker and spanner, but there was so much to do there. Waterskiing, sailing, archery, golf, even a flying trapeze that I had tried 19 years ago, but not this time!!! We all could do what we wanted and there was loads of other teens there for our's to make friends with. They do Kid's Clubs for all ages.
Anyway back to real life now - school starts on monday.

If I had the room you could come here...but I have one spare single bed which sounds like a flock of gulls flying over when you move....

The kids were energetic - I spent most days sitting in the pool reading a book. Lovely week and we all feel really good for it - didn't leave the property once - Steve said he can't remember the last time he didn't drive for a week!!!
Charlie had a great time at his kennels and bounced for over 10 minutes when we arrived to pick him up - the poor cat seemed a bit peeved as he had been in the house on his own with a neighbour to look after him, but after having us all back to bite - especially Charlie -he was much happier!!

Well I know that both Sue I desperately need a break and don't think I can wait for the snow. Will ask her tonight, I know my son is coming over in Sept - so I'm sure they could man the store over a long weekend?

You'd have to wrap up warm though....when we get "proper snow" its often WELL below freezing. Its often so cold your teeth hurt when you go out! None of that wimpy English winter weather here.

Why don`t we offer a "house Swap" service to each other. We can exchange cars/houses/kids!!! for longweekends.
We do it with some friends in CA, works great, it`s a cheap way to see another state.
