Kelly Griffiths came through with her promised piece in the Sentinel:

http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/news_local_southwest_brit/2006/09/if_jamie_embers.html#more

P.S. I just realised that, of course, this has been posted on the blog where I doubt that most Americans will ever get to read it. I wonder if she has plans to get it also into the main body of the paper so that the people who matter may get to hear about it ?

Hi Peter

Thank you for posting

Here is my reply to Kelly's blog # 1

Hello Kelly

We at www.expatsvoice.org wish to thank you for helping to raise awareness of these poor unfortunate children who turn into well educated, decent young adults

It is our belief that these childen subject to good moral character be allowed to earn the right to be come a LPR and in turn be able to petition for their parents to become LPR again subject to good moral,

Our concerns do not stop there. Not all children are able or bright enough to be able to obtain good qualifications or their parents be able to afford the high cost of further education for their children.

It is our belief that these children are brought to the USA leaving their friends and other family members behind. They have no choice in the matter as to what their parents choose to do.

Therefore all children no matter what visa status they are on in the USA should have the right to adjust status to that of LPR

These are so many problems and issues with the current broken immigration system that must be addresses before any action is take to document illegal immigrants

To learn more about our aims please join, partake and support us.

Our very first meeting to form a committe is on 13th Set 2006 at 7.30pm anyone who is interested in joining or finding out more please go to www.expatsvoice.org

Kind regards Sue

Susie,
This is an excellent article and we should all do waht we can to ensure that our US firiends and nighbors read it, and importantly understand it.
Is there a way that Kelly's article is able to be syndicated to other newspapers elsewhere?

Hi Zoe

This is a reply to Kelly's blog, regarding The Dream Act any comments?

is important to know that since Mr. Emberson is legal, he won't be benefiting from the DREAM Act since the bill is for undocumented aliens. Let's say his visa runs out on June 1st and DREAM becomes law on May 31st, he is out. If he were to stay after June 1st (and become undocumented) and DREAM becomes law on June 2nd, he is in.

As long as the individual has been here for five years and came before the age of 16, they should DREAM. This change should be added to the current bill.

I Think the dream act deserves its own thread, so will post one
