The above article appeared in todays Orlando Sentinel. It states that as populations grow, so does the need for more representation in Congress. As Florida has a large immigrant population we are all counted in the population figures. Under the US Constitution they are not allowed to ignore immigrants, legal or illegal.
It does highlight the fact that although we DON'T have a vote as non-immigrants, as members of the Florida population we do have an influence on the number of representatives we have in Congress. It therefore follows that we have influence and we should emphasise this fact in our dealings with Florida politicians.

Hi Chris

From reading some posts it does seem that our Florida congress people do ignore us or just don't care. I wrote a couple of letters and I did get a reply but it was bog standard, thank you and will bear in mind, blah, blah ,blah, If I write a letter to ask some questions why don't they answer at least one of them? Just so rude or they have not bothered to read my letter properly

Would love to know how to get to meet them in person instead of their side kicks, any ideas?

Maybe we could get an appointment, and turn up on mass. They definitely couldn't ignore us then could they?

How many members would be willing to come along if we managed to get an appointment? And what issues would you like us to highlight?
