I've moved this as its technically not to do with visas.

Good luck finding a cheap flight. I don't think I can help, because the only contacts I have could only help with flights originating in the UK due to EU law. However i'll double check and see what I can do.

Hi

The cost of the flights normally gets dearer the closer you get to departure date

I could never figure that one out, maybe it is because the airline have only a few seats left and figure you need to go

Hi
As an ex Uk travel agent the problem with looking at flights with BA and Virgin is that you are trieing to buy seats outside Country of origin, Try looking at Continental who codeshare on the Virgin flights this means they have seats on Virgin but they are purchased through Continental who originate in the US its worth a try. Also www.priceline.com have name your own price with various airlines i have never tried it but friends have and they got some cheap flights.Hope this helps

Yeah... But all my sources are with EU companies, and AFAIA they aren't allowed to re-sell flights originating outside the EU. I won't be able to double check this until the morning. Users can buy flights privately as this isn't covered by retail law.

Incidently, a friend of mine recently flew with Globespan this summer. He raved about them, thought they were brilliant. Its a brand new company, with new fleet. He was very impressed... Definitely worth checking out, especially as their premium class isn't much more expensive than economy.

Lorraine, I'm flying to the UK next week and I've spent hours online looking for the best deals. For a direct flight, Virgin can't be beaten on price at the moment, although I'm flying into Manchester, they do fly to Gatwick......hope this saves you some time searching.

best time to buy flights - after 1am on wednesdays when the airlines dump spare and unsold seats to the bucket shops. try www.sidestep.com for comparrisions on all flights. Also try www.westjet.com from orlando to canada (Toronto or Halifax) using various carriersthen to manchester and return. Try Air canada, BMI, Air Transat and new boys www.zoom.com. Plus Canadian Affair run really cheap package flights. This route has a couple of advantages including sightseeing!
