Hi

I just had to post something here and on Kelly Griffths Blog

Yesterday,. I spoke with a very nice lady who is here living and working here in the USA Her husband and herself both have a green card.

Her adult children are here with her at the moment visiting on the VWP whilst her husband is in the final stages of dying with cancer.

I know exactly how she feels, devasted one minute, angry the next, then a sense of calm, then the cycle starts again

She will need the company of her family around the year ahead or longer but as you know there is no compassionate visa so adult children have to leave their mum in her hour of need.

This situation is so disgusting and must have a leglaslative fix. I have written to Kelly to see if she can do a story purely on the lack of compassion the current immigration laws fail to cover.

I have offered any help that I am able to do for her and truely hope she feels able to reach out to me. But I know that will in itself be difficult to accept.

She is not a member of expats voice but may well join later when she feels able

Hi Wendy

Thank you.

I have also offered any help I am able to give even if just to be at the end of the phone.

Her husband , unfortunately, is going downhill very fast so will give her another call soon and offer your support also

This situation really sucks

No one should have to go through not only suffer the loss of their beloved but all the other grief the immigration service gives or lack of service I should say
