Has anyone made any this year?
I have made them in the past but never managed to stick with them, so my new years resolution is not to bother to make one now or in the future:)

I use it and recommend you only take one a day at night with your meal and avoid ALL fats with the other meals otherwise you need to live near a bathroom
I have lost about 1 pound a week and swear by it Other have had stomach issues so do NOT take three a day or make sure you do NOT eat fat if you take a tablet

I was overweight by about 28lbs- here's my secret. Eat the same things, just on a smaller plate, and stick to it. You should lose about 2lbs a week by doing this and its cheaper than buying diet pills!
The thing is that you need to have a regime that you will stick to, and cutting out your favourite foods means that you won't maintain the diet. So just cut down the amount of food..It does work, I lost the weight and have kept it off.
A program I like watching on BBC America, is " you are what you eat!"- its amazing how much food one can put away in a week!

Britcan This does not work for some people as you are in fact eating less then feeling hungry
If you eat no fat you can eat as large portions of other food as you want. IN six months I have never felt hungry and lost 22 pounds

Loosing 22 lbs sounds brilliant Peter - well done...but I'm not sure how you cut out all fats and dont get "bunged up" (if you know what I mean;) )...sorry mods if this is going off thread....but I'm desperate to loose some weight, the other half likened me to a bloody bouncy castle the other day.....not too flattering I can tell you!!! :D

All well and good - but have you seen the woman who presents that - she's got a face like a bust ball!!! and I think juicing a sprout, has it's own dangers :D if thats what her diet does for you...then she can keep it :D :D :D

Has anyone tried the nutrisystem meal replacement plan? It is worth trying as I followed a similar plan before and lost an average of 2-4lbs a week. (then again I haven't needed it since taking over the cleaners LOL - there's an idea Mcsporran - come and work here and you will probably lose 10lb a week without even trying!)

That helps Peter. I plan to eat a pretty low fat breakfast and lunch and so if I only take Alli at dinner then as long as its low fat I shouldn't need to run to the bathroom then! I guess the motivation is watch your diet or poop yourself! :disturbed:

Hee hee that is so funny!!! She is I agree- however, I like to see how the folk on her show do after their 8 weeks! They look so happy to be thinner!!
Innvic- husbands are very cutting at times!! Mine told me that my ass could act as a helicopter pad!!
I do have one question on that subject- and its not meant to be rascist or demeaning, just a genuine question
Why do Afro American women have huge asses that look like shelves?

The Ali pill is just a fat blocker Eat fat and take the pill and you WILL suffer
Answer eat fat free meals and if you must have some fat take the pill
I have also increased exercise but the real trick is eat NO FATIn the Ali pack they have guides of what to avoid
Good Luck

a few tips, from the diet guru! Any diet ive tried it. aitkens, weightwatchers, red/green days. cabbage diet. south beath, slimming pills, slimfast
Always no matter what, have breakfast, whether this is toast, cereal, etc.
Before eating or drinking anything in the morning, start your day off with a herbal lemon tea. Just boil hot water , i always leave the teabag in the water.
This will lose you upto 2 pounds per week, without even changing your diet!!
the reason the above two points are the very most important thing you do when trying to lose weight, is because they both speed up your metabolism more than anything else. which is what is needed.
Also, cut right down on carbs, anything bread, pots etc.
see the difference just by doing that.

Oooh so sorry to butt in but this is my speciality...losing weight will only occur if you spend more calories than you consume.
QUOTATION from the Grosvenor/Smolin nutrition book of which I am 2/3rds of completing the diploma course:-
QUOTE
Do NOT cut out fat totally from your diet. Fat has a bad reputation and it has thrown people into switching to low fat milk, eating more chicken and fewer eggs and gobbling up fat free cookies cakes and ice cream. The food industry has helped by stocking over 15,000 reduced fat products. BUT the nation has not got thinner and heart disease and cancer are still the major public health threats. Switching to fat free products without checking the calories has not promoted the weight loss desired. A healthy diet requires eating the right kinds of fat and making healthy choices from all of the food groups. UNQUOTE
Happy to oblige in any way with any questions.....

yes agree, its the saturated fats, that need to be avoided, unsaturated fats generally break easier.
Callie, yes correct best diet tip. EAT LESS.
but for those who find dieting hard, there are a couple of tips as i suggested above, to assist in losing weight, without a great deal of effort.
Also whilst on the subject of eating, try not to eat after 6.00pm.

Actually eating less is not the answer. I said eating less than we burn = will increase weight. This is a common misconception, the reason we 'fall off the wagon' of any diet is because we are hungry or crave the foods we are missing (usually the ones loaded in hydrogenised or saturated fats). we need to eat lots and lots of grains, fruits, vegetables even jacket pots... variety is needed as no single food contains the nutrients the body needs, balance means if your favourite meal is burger fries and milkshake enjoy it but balance it with asparagus, brown rice and baked chicken at the next meal, moderation means everything is ok as long as you don't overdo it. It means recognizing your portions, for example how often do you sit down in front of the tv with a bag of crisps and before you know it the whole bag is gone. If you have then you now realise how easy it is to let portion sizes get out of control. Moderation means not having too many calories, too much fat, too much sugar, too much salt or too much alcohol. Choosing moderately will help you maintain a healthy weight. The fact that 60% of Americans are obese demonstrates that they have not been practising moderation when it comes to calorie intake.

Hi all
Thought I would add my two pence worth!
Like many of you I have tried all diets, and the best one I have ever used is one called Fat Loss for Idiots!
I know it’s a crazy name but I was so surprised with the results. Since getting older it is definitely harder to lose weight and on this diet I lost 18lb in 3 months, but the best bit was that it was relatively easy. You diet for 11 days and then have 3 “cheat days” when you can eat what you like
I started on a Monday, which meant that I had every other week-end off. This was soo good as I still had a social life. I really think this was why I was able to stick to it – knowing I could eat what I liked after 11 days!
You generate a different diet every 2 weeks picking foods from a list provided.
The Diet works using a technique called Calorie Shifting (amongst other techniques) which basically confuses your metabolism and forces better weight loss.
Google it, it makes interesting reading!
Any questions, feel free to ask!
It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but was defiantly mine!!
