:( While reporting the sad loss of a pool filter does anyone have enought knowlede to advise us on if it is finally finished or can be revived, and how much a new one will set us back?:(

Sand, DE, or Cartridge filter???

you can get most pool filters at home depot, take the old one with you (after its dry) if you are not sure

It depends on if it is just the motor or the motor and housing, anything from $240 to $500 odd dollars

It may be better to replace both at the same time, if you place one part and then some weeks later the other part goes it will work out dearer in the long run

Yup..about $400 for the pump and motor for a one HP
