British Teachers in Florida

Hi,
I am a qualified teacher over here in UK at the mo, and coming over on E2 visa soon, and am trying to get a florida teaching certificate, but it is not very straightforward. Have looked on dept. of education website, and emailed them but they just referred me back to the website which is not very clear.

Just wondered if anyone is a teacher or knows anyone who has done the same thing and can point me in the right direction becase at the mo I am going round in circles!!:confused:

Treeny - Are you the actual E2 holder or the spouse of an E2 holder. I am assuming that you are the spouse otherwise, if it is you that has the E2 then you are not going to be able to work other than in your E2 business. Valencia CC has information on their website about teaching qualifications, you could always make an appointment at the college to discuss with an advisor - they would then be able to tell you whether your UK qualifications will equate to the USA ones. Teaching jobs in the USA are not as well paid as the UK!!!!!!!
