Hi Peter

Always hoped I would be a high flyer one day but not in the aircraft sense.

Still there is always the lottery, can only hope

Interesting... I've done flying lessons out of Kissimmee Airport, and loved that. Must be interesting in a glider. The serenity of it akin to a hot-air balloon and the flexibilty to travel more or less where you like, would be great.

Think i'd prefer having an engine though.

Having tried both (as you will read when Kelly gets the next one up) I can tell you that the silence of the glider far outweighs the deafening noise of the open-cockpit powered plane any day !

I have been flying gliders since the '60's so the lack of an engine doesn't worry me at all. Unless a wing was lost - in which case engine or no engine your screwed anyway - the glider will always last longer in the air due to it's wieght to speed ratio so the chances of finding somewhere for an emergency landing are better.

Hi

I prefer the planes that have four engines!
