Hi
I would not drive if i were going parking will be a nightmare,I used to work aeound the corner from the embassy and if i remember the nearest tube would be Bond Street and walk down Green Park and walk up when we went we got a taxi from Victoria

Depending upon which line you are on but Marble Arch is probably the nearest and is then signposted to the fortress.
I would not advise driving, you could do without the extra stress of driving in London at that time of day and trying to find somewhere to park, and paying congestion charge etc etc.
If you are staying back up in Leeds look at getting the train down you can pick up some bargains on GNER especially if you book as far in advance as poss.

Agree dirving is probably not a great idea given presumably am appt so time constraints & whilst you can park within walking distance (at the corner of Hyde Park - underneath it) the hourly rate whilst your waiting is going to hurt. http://www.usembassy.org.uk/ukembmap.html is a map of where it is - Grosnevor Square darling - just look out for the really ugly univiting building with the 3 miserable queues outside (the 50+ people for each 1/2 hour appointment...)

Hi Em

We have an office on the outskirts of London. I will pm their telephone number as I know of a couple of Bed and breakfast places fairly cheap.

Only half hour on train from Liverpool Street

For directions go to Yahoo.co.uk you should be able to enter your home address and embassy, but train is best. The traffic is horrendous

if your driving from the M1 ,head towards egdware rd /marble arch ,you will have to pay 8 pounds congestion charges ,then park in the selfidge hotel ,off Duke St ,then walk to the Embassy ,the walk will take 5 mins from hotel car park
