Anyone have a feel as to how many people get to the actual interview and are approved without a hitch/denied with no advance warning?
Are most visas being issued for 2years or are some lucky individuals still getting 5?

Hi Victoria
Our VA was nearly 100% certain that as we were a new start-up business (i.e. no proven history) we would get 2 years, which was correct.
She was also pretty definite it would involve an interview for the same reason, which it also did.

Hi Redsox
Thanks. So start ups are pretty much destined to get 2 years if they're lucky enough to get approved. hmm. thanks. oh well....2 is better than nothing.
I knew we'd get an interview I just wonder how much turns on the interview itself. I recall at the beginning when we interviewed attornies that they all pretty much said we had an 80% chance of getting a visa. With interview coming up am in a panic & trying to reassure myself that having been called to the interview things are looking good as opposed to this is make or break... Only time will tell I suppose!!

I havent heard of anyone getting 5 years for a long time, well I have but not through London. I did hear of someone getting one year the other day, I didnt even know they can give one year on E2 but they can give six months if they want, it is ludicrous, how can you do anything in a year.

The E2 that my VA filed before mine got 5 years AND it was a start up! my VA was in complete shock...I saw the proof and he says it just goes to show that everything is Grey and nothing is certain!

I was really lucky with my application from renewing my L to green card was about 8 months, strange thing my renewal for L was denied but green card application approved.

My VA seems to think only 2 year E2 now being issued. BUT of course there is always the exception to the rule (Are you sure they did not stamp the 2 backwards by mistake so it looked like a 5 -ha ha). 1 year I am told tends to be for a renewal where they have fallen short of their business plan or the owners benefit looks a bit close to the knuckle and the 1 year gives them a final chance to sort it.

I prefer Emma's story of 5 years as opposed to the 6 months possibility. Urgh, what a nightmare. But I supposed 6 months is better than a no..... Thanks all.

hi Victoria,
We had an existing business and still only got a 2 year issued. It seems this is the norm now as days. We are just renewing and hopeing to get a 5, but are at teh mercy of the treaty office.

So were do I find the introduce yourself section!!!!!
Frustration is the lack of information that is visable on the Homeland Security Website, it is trying to do things and then realising that you have probably wasted hours on stuff that really wasnt necesary.
I hate feeling insecure in the renewal process and also the fact we have to retrun to the UK. I get distressed at the way we are treated like idiots when we are actually smart people who have added to the local community. I just think the whole system needs reviewing adn some stability to those who are now here should be offered. It is not fair letting us live here but then possibly refusing to renew the visa becasue the quota has run out and I am not able to find another way to maintain us in this country.
ShallI go on!!!!!!!!!!!

but why is it so Crap, it really shouldnt be should it? it seems many citizens have no idea all th hoops and loops we have to jump to maintain existance here, they are generally horrifed that we are treated so shockingly by their government.

My husband hit the nail on the head when he said
"you cannot make sense of nonsense!"
and that is what it is, my hubby was a so called civil servant for 23 years and the government is totall nonsensical, it needs to change, we know that, they know that, BUT it wont happen as it takes time, money, resources they dont have and someone with half a brain to instigate it all........
sigh......only good thing sally is your not alone mate
