Husband is adamant there's no point arriving until 30mins before his appt - for mine I recall there were 3 miserable queues & they moved you across so if you were a complete saddo like me & arrived an hour ahead of time you were at the front of the queue for your time slot. Is it still working like this or is he right & I'm wrong?

Almost the same. If you arrive more than 30 mins early they won't even let you join the queue. (This is the outside one along the concrete barriers). The earlier you arrive, then the earlier in your queue you will be when it starts to form. However, this doesn't mean you'll be seen processed in that order. When you first arrive, you have to submit your evidence, which is done in queue order. After that you have to wait until your number is called. However, they call out the numbers then out of queue order. I suppose some cases are easier than others, and they call them first regardless of position in queue. So being there first doesn't mean you'll get out first.

Hi Victoria we are just back from the embassy and I always have to be early. Never again your husband is right, they were turning people away. One queue after another we stood outside for 3 hours ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Our appt time was 11 and we didnt get into the embassy till 12, we were there at 9. Good luck then our number every number around it was called for over 1 hour before hours . But the guy we saw was so nice a real laugh.
Good luckxx

I still feel it is better to be early than late, even if you keep being sent to the back like a naughty child,
If you are really late I wonder if they would refuse to see you

We were all right... He arrived there at 9 (for a 10.15) so by the time it came for him to go in he was right at the front of the 10.15 queue with dozens of people behind him for the same time. But a camera crew arrived & marched in front of him & it took them an hour to get through security so he didn't get in to the Embassy till 11.15 but it was all over & he was back at his desk in London by 12 which is the quickest I've ever heard of anyone getting any type of visa.
Victoria
Do you know why a camera crew were there?
