If I were to try to make an appt at the Embassy re becoming a dependant on my husband's E2 - anyone know how I go about it? Do I need to instruct an attorney? Visa pple?
the idea being give up my job & H1b, go to the UK have appt & apparently stamp in passport, come into US & apply for work authorisation.

If you have trouble getting through let me know as I think the appointment line is a number that cannot dialed from the USA

If you have trouble dialing UK numbers from the US use VOIP services.
Like tesco internet phone, the rates are good from 2p Minute from anywhere to anywhere, mobile 10p a mintue, also Internet to Internet calls are free.
As VOIP calls are not geographical. As the call is routed to a local server over the internet then unto the voice network, all number should work OK?
Just a thought.

great thanks - will try through Skype. Now, does anyone know how long they're taking to hand out appointments?
Also, what are the chances of them refusing to put me as my husband's dependant on his E2 - is it an automatic stamp in my passport?

I am sure it will be a formality and hope all goes well :)

Hi Victoria,
I think (and others on here will have done this - so will advise accordingly) but I'm sure this will be a bit of a formality. I think you'll get an interview pretty quick too (my mate just came back and he got a date within a month of calling). Good luck.
