THe entire family is pretty upset now. US embassy official in Manila, Philippines refused to grant Temporary visa to attend the wedding.

Despite parents offering their house, and federal employment tenure as a bond that I wont overstay my visa.

Dont know what to do right now.

Its all so infuriating.

You applied for a B2? That is meaningless, there are no bonds associated with visa's.

It is down to your personal situation.

See if you can get your government to intervene. We had friends in the UK with a daughter with cerebral palsy. They had an au pair/exchange student from Slovakia looking after the daughter. The family planned a trip to Florida and planned to take the au pair to help with the child however the slovakian young lady was denied a visa. Our friends got the local government rep (MP) to write on their behalf to the Embassy and they got a visa for her just in time.

First he would need a Visa for Mexico, and then a guide to walk in.

Expensive. But I believe you can get a discount if you mule drugs.

Apparently my experience proves that going to mexico and crossing the dessert would appear to be easier. Sigh.

That is the point that the US Government seems to be missing.

"going to mexico and crossing the dessert would appear to be easier"

If they simplified and streamlined the visa/immigration system it would stop a lot of illegal immigration and help out the legals. Two birds one stone. But hey a fence you can see right away.

Simple fact is some countries people overstay to a greater degree than others... the bad people ruin it for the genuine .

The only way round could be perhaps for the wedding venue to change (say caribbean?) where you could travel much easier?

Hey sorry to hear about this...it really sucks! I'm in the Philippines at the moment and it is different. I agree that some countries have people who come to the US on visas and tend to overstay. I see now that the Philippines probably is towards the top of the list. Good luck and hopefully you'll find a way through it.
