Hi all

Just an idea but if anyone has examples of letters/replies from the embassy, maybe its a good idea to post them here as to stop people getting confused.

They may help applicants relax a bit knowing, or at least what to expect, with regards to replies...
They can be confusing....

All help is a bonus in these dark and confusing times!!

As always thanx muchly.

I have a copy of an 'E-2 approval' letter from the embassy.

My scanner has gone kaput so I can't attach it to this post but if anyone is interested in reading it, I don't mind typing it in as a post on here...

Okay. This is the wording from the main body of the letter. As I have had to type it in - word for word, rather than scan it - it omits the headed paper and personal company details following the signature but, as they are not relevant, here it is:

Dear Treaty Visa Applicant:

Your application for a Treaty Investor (E-2) visa has been approved. Based on the information you have submitted, we have granted E registration to your firm for two years.

Please note that an employee being sent to work in the United States must be of the same nationality as the sending company. For example, a firm of U.K. nationality may send only U.K nationals to work at the American subsidiary or affiliate using E visas. Employees who are not of the same nationality of the enterprise must obtain other types of work visas.

Your company should retain copies of prior visa-related correspondence and documents pertaining to qualification, since we conduct periodic reviews of companies that are registered with us.

Sincerely,
Meg Olsen.

So if you are a uk company you cannot send a person who was born in any other country, even though they have worked for you ?

Have I understood correctly?
