I thought with the state of the economy lately, businesses would be eager to get as much work as they can. I've been trying for a while to get someone to extend my lanai/patio and install a screen, but nobody seems interested :(

I've called a few companies and they either don't call back or don't show up when they say they will come to do an estimate. What the heck's going on?!

So if anyone can recommend somebody who is reliable to lay a concrete slab (approx 17ft x 15ft) and install a screen, please let me know.

Thanks.

This is America, where every body is "rich" and do not need to work ;)

Tina, that is one of the things I used to try to point out to the many Senators, Congressmen I used to write to with regard to our situation - but hey, they didn't care and have lost two very good workers who could have sorted out your situation in a heartbeat.

So many times we hear stories such as yours - obviously work ethic is something to be desired over there.

Good luck with finding someone good and reliable.

Love Anniexxx

Annie, what I wouldn't give to have the good old British tradesmen available here. I've lost count the number of times I've been let down by workers here. You're right......they can't see the wood for the trees here :(

Thanks for the link britcan, but none of them are close to this area (Davenport) and with the price of gas I wonder if they'd be willing to travel this far :erm:

make sure they are licenced and insured whom ever you get to do it. touble is there are so many codes that have to be met and it would depend on how old the original screen is. if its before the latest codes they may not be able just to extend!!!
