Dean posted a closed thread today. Just curious why Florida only and why closed? Surely this is Expatsvoice - not the Florida forum or does the UK government believe only Florida businesses worthy of mention?

Do you think it might be that Dean is based in Orlando Florida.

Dean stated a pm only so that is probably the reason it is a closed thread
although it was not closed when it was first put on.

I'd be grateful if you can let me know in PM only.
Many thanks.

Dean

InnVic,

To answer your questions:

Only Florida, because that's the area I cover (US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico too) but I'll promote access for expats in the Islands nearer to the time we launch the expanded expats section on our website.

I have been asked a question by the Orlando Sentinel (a local newspaper in Central Florida) about British expats in Central Florida. They only want to know about people in the wider Orlando area, otherwise they wouldn't be called the Orlando Sentinel. Although I have a good idea about most things British in my district, I like to stay informed - hence the question.

No idea why the thread is closed. Ask a moderator.

If I recall correctly, you live in New England. Why not contact the British Consulate-General in Boston and ask them to add your business to their list of British businesses already shown on their website?

If you'd prefer that I only posted in the Florida Forums, let me know.

Dean

The topic was closed so it would not go off topic..
Dean can't close a topic..and did not ask for it to be closed..

Perfectly valid response Dean, and no I don't think any member would like you to only post on the Florida Forum.

Is it possible that the closed thread by Dean be made a 'sticky'? Surely adding Brit businesses to Deans web list would be ongoing activity, not a one-time event. The problem with threads that are not stickies is that they disappear in that Black Hole known as 24 hour old threads and you have a hell on earth job locating them.
Just a suggestion.

Sorry Dean and everyone here - I'm obviously being really thick - I didn't realise that there was more than one British consul in the USA. (I thought that there was one and it just happened to be located in orlando) That does of course explain everything. I apologise again :o
