I have a question?
Do people here on an E2 visa pay their medical insurance premiums through the business?
I am sending off the dreaded monthly check and just wondered if i should be paying it through the business instead of my personal account.
Thanks as always.

It depends on the way you have it set up. If it is set up as a group policy on the business, you can pay it from the business. If it is personal insurance you pay it yourself but it does go on your tax return as an expense.

We got our 'group policy" (just us two) through the Chamber of commerce and so pay it through the business.

Yes. We use a group policy from MVP, also a chamber of commerce scheme. You have to provide a tax return to get started. We deduct the cost from our profit for tax purposes. The group policy has a big plus in that you can add employees.
Looks like when we leave US next yr we are not going to lease out put a manager in. Offering health insurance even with a healthy deductible could be the difference in getting who you want. Good honest staff round here are like gold dust!!

I have just had the biggest shock.
We have a group policy (3 people) with Blue Cross Blue Shield, and the cost has risen from $1200 to $1694 per month !!!

Would others be willing to share the cost of their insurance and contact numbers, otherwise I may well go broke!

We pay $1050 per month for two people with $1500 deductible each. Both 50 yrs old. The chambers do not provide the insurance they will just have preferred providers and can ‘introduce you‘ as a biz. One advantage of a group scheme is they cannot deny because of a pre condition, unlike personal insurance. Anthem Blue cross would not cover my wife under personal health insurance because of a pretty minor pre condition!!

$300 per month for two people, mid 50s. $5000 deductible and 50% co pay between $5000 and $10,000 so the max we can pay is $7500. It is no use really for anything except hospitalisation or something really serious, we pay for everything else ourselves.

We pay $126 for two but with a $25000 (yup twenty five thousand) deductible. Figure it would at least protect us from losing the house and business if we needed care.
