i do not fully understand how the site works, so this is a suggestion that might not be possible.
but could it not be possible that nobody is allowed to post until they have given details about themselves and been checked out.

Most of the time I get them before they post..the posts you can't see are me banning them...

I agree with grumps.No-one should be allowed to post anything without posting a bio first. I know of one regular poster on here who still has not done a bio and who has been asked in open forum to post one, but still to no avail.

The spammers do a bio..that does not stop spam...but doing a bio may stop people from having their IDs deleted from now on...

Right now I have 4 spammers online...3 are joining one is wondering why he can't post..
The one good thing about this is we are getting extra traffic because the forum is so busy...people are coming and reading a lot of the topic's...because expats is so easy to find...
We get in a lot of people per day who never join but read everything...

Is there a way to spam the spammers?
I'm sure they'd love getting hit with porno sites, soap powders coupons offers and refi emails all day and all night!!
Perhaps we can forward their email's to the Sherriff's Office too. I'm sure some snotty little nerds parents won't be too pleased getting knocked up at 3am to tell them their little johnny who hasn't come out of his closet for the past 3 years is a little antisocial toe rag.
Better still, 6 big guys with baseball bats.

I've removed 60 plus spammers...well more like the same few spammers 60 times..and that is in 2 days...I'm just thankful you don't have to see what we do if they get to post...well maybe the guys would like it...LOL

They are slowing down a little...maybe because I catch their IDs before they can post...

I'm glad you've managed to make a dent Kriz - I know that when I log on in the morning it takes me 30mins minimum to just clear the spam before i can even start looking at real posts. There has got to be a better way of dealing with this and surely the server provider should have some sort of spam blocker?

I think you get the overnighters who get to post..I've just got pages of deletes...so good posts are lost to the mods...

The spam is getting so bad and as Kris says It is almost a full time job to control. Hopefully now Punky is back he may be able to assist in some way. Kris did you wiz Punky an e-mail?
