How is everyone? I have been working on getting my wife (japanese national) here for almost 5 months, and have gone to the internet to see what other options i have.
Im active duty military, and i was stationed in japan. Me and my wife ran into some paperwork after we got married and for that reason i had to leave to new mexico before i could start on her visa. I have filed an I-130, but the person at the immigration department (uscis) told me that i will have to wait about 6 months. I dont have the money to support me and my wife in japan with the money i make in new mexico, nor can i afford to keep going back and forth to japan. I was told to maybe file an 129F but according to the
My question is this. Is there any other way i can get her here for the 6-8 months i have to wait? Can i bring her here on a regular passport and if so how long will it last?

Hi Cesar
I have been working on getting my wife (japanese national) here for almost 5 months, and have gone to the internet to see what other options i have.
** You are an active military person you have Diff set of rule to follow.
Go to your commanding officer and talk to him on your problem it will be taken care immidiately on ASAP basis.
Im active duty military, and i was stationed in japan.
Me and my wife ran into some paperwork after we got married and for that reason i had to leave to new mexico before i could start on her visa. I have filed an I-130, but the person at the immigration department (uscis) told me that i will have to wait about 6 months.
** Their is spl provision for ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY PERSONNEL.
I dont have the money to support me and my wife in japan with the money i make in new mexico, nor can i afford to keep going back and forth to japan.
** tell your unit officer all this.
I was told to maybe file an 129F but according to the
???????What is that about ?????
My question is this. Is there any other way i can get her here for the 6-8 months i have to wait?
** You can try VISIT VISA again your commander or officer in charge will be able to get her here faster than anyone Military have a Dept. just for immigration needs REACH them
Can i bring her here on a regular passport ????Do you mean as a visitor? than yes she can come here to visit you.and than she can stay as AOS pending.
Also I noted you said 6 months wait if 5 months have passed what is one more month ? ask your officer or unit to help process /expidite your application fast .
**You have one more option----your immidiate officer can write your financial difficulty to USCIS director and request to expidite your wife's paperwork.
That will be the best option you have .
Good luck

Thanks alot. I guess i forgot to finish that I-129f sentence. They said that if i fill out an I-129F that its going to take 4-5 months. It has been 5 months, but i just filed the I-130 paperwork 1 month ago. I had no idea what to do and i tried to talk to finance/legal/chaplain but it was to no avail.
I have heard of the expedite process, but i thought it was only life or death basis. If its for financial purposes then i should have no problem going to my commander and getting a formal letter made and sent to the uscis service center. Thanks alot for you help, ill keep you posted on what happens

Hi ceasar just to let you know if you do get delayed for getting your wife in USA on GC their is a temp. relief " its the Visa waiver Prog" which is available to your wife (JAPAN) she can certainly join you for 3 months here without any problem... but she MUST GO BACK at the end of her visit.
Its just a thought , something is better than nothing :
