Disney Channel needs kids age 8-14 who were born in Great Britain, and now live in the United States, to star in a brand new Disney Channel TV show! The key is they still have to have their British Accents! When picked, they will be put on a well-compensated contract with Disney Channel and flown in to Los Angeles every time we record a show. The show will air in the United States and around the world on Disney Channel. Please contact David Glasgal at 323-464-6789 x208 or send pictures and info to david@7ate9.com Thank you.

Hi

Never even thought of that !

So what you are aslo saying is that teenagers who wish to earn some pocket money cannot work at all. Perhaps E 2 teenagers should still send e-mail and let Disney know of the situation or their parents, good idea?

At the same time let Disney know about expatsvoice perhaps

This must upset some teenages especially if their friends can work. So waht about L 2 dependant children, so they get a soc sec number and can they work then

My child did have an L2 visa but never wanted to work, sooner ask dad for dosh

If Disney wanted to go to the trouble of getting visa's for kids...they would go to an agent in the UK for Brit kids...they seem to want kids that can work already in the USA...but e-mails would be worth a go...you never know..
Kids OF E2 parents can't even babysit...

It all boils down to do they have a social security number which kids of E2 visa holders do not sorry

Legally kids may not be able to work, but kids under the age of 14 can certainly work Valuntarily and get a small stipend ... it can be done without a SSN... there is a number allotted at school to every kid in place of a social sec. number that can be used..... , Moreover its not considered a job because kids under 14 anyway are not allowed to work,- legal or not legal.
It can be worked out as scholarship or stipend given to them for attending . No law prohibits that.. as tech. speaking its not PAYCHECK for JOB . Good luck to kids.
( Disney should know how to work that out) They can also offer money as gift check which is just fine to accept :).

A scholarship may work...but the money talked about we when looked into our daughter working for Disney could not be called voluntary...

scholarship is just fine. Its just how you phrase the contract ....More over you could use terminology "stipend" . Bottom line is to let the kid get some exposure and how you make it work is just fine .. if you have overseas address you can have the kids contract made on that address and deposit the check in UK too that is another way to work around.
