Hi Julie
Do you know what year the first series of Dr Who came out?

It was a long time ago, the mid 60s I would say. I know I used to hide behind the sofa at the Daleks and now they look like tin cans with a toilet plunger, technology has moved on somewhat.

They filmed the series in Cardiff - (I work in Cardiff) and they are currently filming the next series just accross the road from our office. I walk past all the catering and lighting vans every morning wondering if I will catch a peek of Billy Piper - probably wouldn't recognise the rest of the cast even if I did see them.
We did see a Dalek the other day though - being wheeled into a building.
Also the office building that I work in is being used to film a scene out of Wesley Snipes new movie. They are going to pretend that it is Scotland Yard - the shoot is tonight and they have asked the staff at our firm if they will volunteer as extras - paid £50 woo hoo. I am not doing it - rather be sat at home watching Coronation Street.

I must admit that it will be the ONE big thing that I would miss too. Hopefully soon they will be able to get it in the USA. I know that you have said that people tape it and send it to you - so hopefully you are not totally without.

If you get a dish big enough to reach Canada, they have it there, but are loads behind. I have to rely on someone who travels back and forth recording it on DVD for me so we end up with gaps in the storyline. better than nothing though. Am way behind now as the last episode I received was taped on New Years Eve. You are supposed to be able to stream episodes off the net, I have tried without much success though, takes days!

Takes about 20 minutes to download each episode. Now up to date!!!

Actually its a Welsh series, filmed in the capital, Cardiff, like the other person said. They filmed a whole episode in the oval basin outside my mums work and she saw a dalek and the TARDIS :) Is there somewhere you can stream the latest eppisode?

I love doom and gloom....I'm a great fan of old Kitchen Sink Drama's....got to watch one on a new channel this Monday...it was like Sundays afternoons I remember from long ago...a cup of tea and cake... and pointing out cars and stuff we remember having as kids....I loved it...my daughter on the other hand thought it was pants.........:)

We are astonished at the new Dr. Who. We were given some episodes on DVD and it is SOOOOOOO bad! We laugh at Billie Piper who let's face it is rather a strapping gal, she would never get on TV over here. We recently were watching the Dalek episode and it was very funny. How could we ever have been scared by this stuff? AND why, with special effects so good now are we still so bad at them on the BBC? LOL!
