North American cities overlayed onto a map of Africa and Eurasia.

I drove east to west from the White Mountains of NH to the pacific coast and LA. Took the north route out through NY, Il, Iowa, Nebraska, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, CA. Then tried to follow rt 66 back for as much as we could on the south rt.

It was a great trip. Took about 3 weeks

Not driven coast to coast, though I've driven from Chicago to Tampa and for the millenium we drove to New York City from Orlando via Wahongton D.C. At the last count I've visited 30 + states, still have the middle to do.

The point of the map overlay was to emphasise the size of North America. We may attempt a trip from say Seattle to Miami, but Paris to Riyhad ??? Also consider the amount of cultures one would encounter along the way. Should every US citizen be be put into one group. "Oh you're American." or is there a difference between thos americans in Seattle and those in Miami. North and South. San Francisco and Alabama.

It's one big world out there.

I've done less traveling in the US since we moved here..apart from driving to FL and back..like most people we never use whats on our doorstep..and we have wasted years not using the beaches just down the road..
